axaio MadeToTag ist ein Plug-In für Adobe InDesign CS6 bis CC, mit dem man Adobe InDesign-Dokumente für den Export als getaggtes, barrierefreies PDF vorbereitet und exportiert – ganz einfach, sehr schnell und äußerst zuverlässig. Hierbei erfüllt das getaggte PDF die Kriterien des PDF/UA-Standards (Universal Accessibility), dem internationalen ISO-Standard für barrierefreies PDF. PDF/UA ist wichtig für Organisationen, die Vorschriften zum barrierefreien Zugang von Inhalten einhalten müssen (u.a. WCAG 2.0, Section 508 in den USA, Kanadas “Common Look and Feel Standard” und der BS 8878 in Großbritannien).
Die MadeToTag Benutzeroberfläche basiert auf einem geführten 7-Schritte-Guide, der den Anwender sicher und intuitiv durch die Erstellung einer getaggten PDF führt, ohne Gefahr laufen zu müssen, einen wichtigen Schritt zu übersehen oder zu vergessen.
Einsatzbereiche
Basierend auf getaggten PDFs werden u.a. Bildschirm-Lesegeräten für Sehbehinderte oder Vorlese-Software für Menschen mit Lernbehinderung, die nötigen Informationen bereit gestellt, um einen umfassenden und logischen Zugang zum Inhalt einer PDF-Datei zu ermöglichen. Getaggte PDFs sind daher Voraussetzung für PDF-Barrierefreiheit. Die Bereitstellung barrierefreier Inhalte sind im öffentlichen Sektor Pflicht, aber auch in verschiedenen Industrie-Unternehmen nimmt diese Anforderung immer mehr an Bedeutung zu. Die Tags in der PDF-Datei folgen ähnlichen Strukturen wie sie bei HTML zu finden sind.
