AIIM Technical Implementation GuideThe US Committee for PDF/UA has published the first edition of PDF/UA-1 Technical Implementation Guide: Understanding ISO 32000-1 (PDF 1.7) for PDF/UA developers coming to grips with the PDF specification.

The document’s target audience is:

  • Assistive Technology (AT) developers and vendors.
  • Software developers interested in writing and processing Tagged PDF files.

For implementers of ISO 14289-1 (PDF/UA), this Guide illuminates and clarifies aspects of clause 14 of ISO 32000-1. It’s not a substitute for PDF/UA, not is it a “how to” document for end users. Each section of this Guide may be read side-by-side with clause 14 of ISO 32000-1.

Although non-normative, this document reflects the intentions of the US Committee for PDF/UA, the lead authors of ISO 14289-1. It complements the US Committee's Technical Implementation Guide for PDF/UA, first published in late 2013, as well as the PDF Association’s Matterhorn Protocol.

PDF/UA-1 Technical Implementation Guide: Understanding ISO 32000-1 (PDF 1.7), is posted on AIIM’s website.
