Federal agencies digitization guidelines initiative

The US Government's Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI) has released its latest Technical Guidelines for Digitizing Cultural Heritage Materials: Creation of Raster Image Files.

These guidelines provide federal agencies with formal guidance on digitizing books and unbound materials.

As of the September, 2016 edition of the Guidelines, PDF/A is recognized as the preferred master file format for such digitization efforts.

FADGI's index of acceptable file-formats has also been updated.
